Advocate, MD offers a claims-made policy.
Retroactive coverage (prior-acts coverage) is available to most physicians, subject to Underwriter’s approval. Insureds enrolled in the MMAP program are not eligible for prior-acts coverage.
Advocate, MD works with a team of experienced attorneys statewide, chosen for their track record in
medical malpractice litigation.
Advocate, MD has knowledgeable and experienced claims representatives should a claim be filed against you.
The Advocate, MD Standard and Continuous Policies require the Named Insured's written consent to make or conclude any offers to settle a professional liability claim, subject to receiving consent on a reasonable basis. The MMAP policy does not currently require written consent from the physician.
New-to-Practice physicians under the Standard and Continuous Policies receive a 30% discount during the first and second year of their policy. MMAP policy holders will receive a 25% discount during the first year of their policy and a 10% discount during their second year of their policy.
